2015 National Rally UPDATE

Postby classic » July 19th, 2015, 11:52 pm

:o It's the annual National Rally next weekend :!:
Don't forget, you can pay on arrival at the venue if you have not pre-booked ;)
The club really does need your support, a lot of effort goes into organising this event, so please, please pop along if you can. The Shipston Rugby Club is a great venue, and we have live music on both Friday and Saturday evenings- with bar. Lots and lots planned for the kids, and all the usual adults fun and games, if you get my drift
It's going to be a scorcher, so come and join us.
LATE NEWS...The gentleman who usually brings along his excellent snack van has sadly been taken ill, so there will NOT be a mobile catering van on site all weekend! However, the great people at the rugby club are going to offer breakfast rolls and full breakfasts on both Saturday and Sunday morning from 8.00am to 10.00am :)
There is also a chinese takeaway and a pizza shop in the town, and both are willing to deliver to the venue :!: Menu's for both establishments will be in your goody bags :P

A massive thanks to everyone who braved the awful weather to attend the national rally at Shipston. We can't thank you enough for making the effort, and what a great selection of 'vans we had on site :) We have had great feedback about the live entertainment on both Friday and Saturday, in particular the 'Queen' night on Saturday; how fantastic was he :!: We are also blown away by the very early interest in the 2016 overseas holiday to the Loire in France, and we will get full details to those registering an interest as soon as we get it from Select Sites.

Once again, THANK YOU, you are a brilliant bunch, and we really appreciate the support.

Unlike modern motorhomes, the classics add a splash of colour to any event.

Beautifully restored Ford Transit Legend; classic Auto-Sleeper. This example was voted 'Best Coachbuilt' model by the members.

Great to see some rare models at the rally, this is a MKI Transit Oxley, by Oxley Coachcraft.

Certainly the oldest 'van at the rally, and the only (known) surviving example of Britain's first coachbuilt motorhome; The Bedford CA Calthorpe from 1957.
