1970 Dormobile goes to see the Swiss Alps

Postby Jabbawocky » November 16th, 2010, 12:11 am

Hi all

65CA has asked me to post some of our holiday snaps from our trip to france and the Swiss Alps this summer. We had a great holiday and it was great to meet up with two lads off the Dormobile forum, Ant (Tony) and JKHackney (Jeremy).

After three years of restoration, I had a very mad last two weeks getting Barney fit to go on holiday in. I left it as late as possible to set off, but I had to set off with her unfinished!!

Made it to Dover. No Curtains yet.

Day 2 in France. Curtains fitted in the Aires de Service in Calais at midnight. Absolutely shattered so had two days relaxing on a very nice Municipal site at La Fere.

Made it to the Alps. Shame the weather was poor. The mountain appeared for a few seconds and that was that. Rain and more rain.

The big meet up. The Dormobiles and some other things from Norfolk.

Annecy, well worth a visit.

Two days in Cluny. Great weather, finally got to use the BBQ.

We left Cluny the next morning and with a mile the fan belt broke. All the parts shops were on holiday, so Barney came home on a Lorry. We had to suffer a Merc.

Cheers Mick
